Volunteerism and the Elderly: Boomers Giving Back

This article from Inside Elder Care discusses what can be achieved when seniors volunteer to help seniors.

There are numerous societal benefits in having seniors volunteer in our communities. They have helped out by providing compassion to  visitors for people in hospitals. Retired teachers have helped out younger generations by tutoring them after school. Professionals of all kinds donate their time and services after retirement. This give back mentality has carried then national when times are tough.

    Thank you for the link to this post! I think when someone with a like-mind of someone else helps them, the communication is more effective and it’s an all-around better way to help out. Like veterans helping veterans. When someone with similar views on life and are dealing with the same thing as the person they’re helping, really, the help is reciprocated. The volunteer learns about things and addresses issues that they maybe never thought about. Giving love is very similar to receiving love.
