School wants Students to put Service First

Emma Tomlinson, 8, said she thought she was probably 5 the first time she participated in community service. So to her, making cards to be taken to Loyalton of Staunton, an assisted living facility, didn’t seem like a surprising idea. Dana Tacy’s third grade class spent Wednesday afternoon making cards for senior citizens in the nursing home and plans to give them the cards today after singing and reciting scripture they have memorized.
