Study shows reduction in Restraints and also in Chronic Pain for Nursing Home Residents
Read this article from Long-Term Living to learn how nursing homes in the U.S. have reduced the percentage of restraint use and also the number of residents suffering from chronic pain.
Initiated in 2006 as a voluntary, national, coalition-based campaign, Advancing Excellence aims to help nursing homes improve quality by setting measureable goals to encourage improvements in care and quality of life for nursing home residents. To participate, nursing homes must select three of eight possible goals on which to work on and then are encouraged to use the wealth of resources found on the Web site to help them improve.
