Celebrate National Nursing Home Week, May 10th - 16th

This week-long celebration was established back in 1967 by The American Health Care Association.  Read this article from Iowa’s Emmetsburg News to find out how this county will be honoring their elderly and disabled nursing home residents.

Many special activities are planned at nursing home facilities throughout Palo Alto County.

Emmetsburg Care Center will kick-off the week early by hosting the Chamber Coffee on Friday, May 8, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Throughout the week, western attire will be the clothing of choice at the Emmetsburg Care Center. Residents and staff, alike, will celebrate “Fair Week.” On Monday, May 11, a Doll Show will be held at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Pie and Ice Cream Social from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

A Quilt Show will be held on Tuesday, May 12, at 9:30 a.m. along with Farm Games at 1:30 p.m. On Wednesday, May 13, the Fair Queen Contest gets underway at 9:30 a.m., and the Brown Bag Auction begins at 1:30 p.m.
