The BP Blogger Newsletter is produced by the Regional Geriatric Program central (RGPc), located at St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton, one of 5 regional geriatric programs located in Ontario. The RGPc is affiliated with McMaster University and sponsored by Hamilton Health Sciences.

The “BP Blogger Newsletter” (subtitled “Best Practice (BP) Blogger: Cutting through the Foggy Myths Using Best Practice Guidelines in Long Term Care”) is part of the Long term Care Best Practices Resource Centre website at RGPc.

These visually appealing and accessible two-page newsletters are designed to deliver evidence-based information to front-line workers in long term care. Topics include: Bones; Wandering; Medication; Hand Hygiene; Swallowing; Fluids; Skin Care; Mouth Care; Sudden Change in Condition; Sleep; Pain; and Incontinence.

The Long Term Care Best Practices Resource Centre section of the site also provides the “Best Practices in Long-Term Care Homes Newsletter”, which highlights new projects and resources being developed at the RGPc’s. Other material on the site includes presentations and useful documents including: “Documentation in long-term care”; “Prevention of dehydration”, and much more.
